From November 2024, Miguel de Icaza has started working at CIAFF as new postdoctoral researched in the Astrophysics and Cosmology group.

Miguel de Icaza completed his PhD at Durham University, under the supervision of Peder Norberg and Richard Bower. His work included the analysis of the 14th data release of SDSS/eBOSS focused on the redshift space distortion for LRG, as well as a separate project using machine learning methods to derive equations predicting galaxy properties based on their dark matter halo and subhalo environments.

Miguel's first postdoctoral position was at KASI in South Korea, where he developed emulators for theoretical predictions and simulation measurements of galaxy clustering. These emulators are now being utilized by two different working groups analyzing the year-one data of DESI.
