In our best understanding, the Universe is dominated by two elusive components: dark matter and dark energy. There is a strong effort to constrain these dark components using galaxies as their tracers.

Dr. Violeta Gonzalez-Perez is organising a symposium to explore this project during the European Astronomical Society Annual Meeting:

CIAFF welcomes Violeta Gonzalez-Perez as a new "Atracción de Talento" Fellow

From September 2020, Dr. Violeta González Pérez, has started working at CIAFF with a senior researcher grant "Atracción de Talento de la Comunidad de Madrid".

Violeta has an extensive experience working on models of galaxies in a cosmological context. You can find more information in her personal website:  https://viogp.github.io/.

The Hyper-Kamiokande project is officially approved

Hyper-Kamiokande (HK or Hyper-K) project is the world- leading international scientific research project hosted by Japan aiming to elucidate the origin of matter and the Grand Unified Theory of elementaly particles. The project consists of the Hyper-K detector, which has an 8.4 times larger fiducial mass than its predecessor, Super-Kamiokande, equipped with newly developed high-sensitivity photosensors and a high-intensity neutrino beam produced by an upgraded J-PARC accelerator facility.

6th general meeting of the Hyper-Kamiokande proto-Collaboration

The 6th general meeting of the Hyper-Kamiokande proto-Collaboration was held at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 13-16 March 2018

Hyper-Kamiokande is a scientific project supported by relevant Japanese institutes and lead by ICRR U. Tokyo and KEK, and includes the involvement of scientific organisations globally (see http://www.hyper-k.org)
